"Every good and perfect gift is from above....."       James 1:17

My name is Lisa Lute and my greatest joy in life is being the wife to my amazing and supportive husband, Jerred, and the mommy to my 4 beautiful children, Madison who is 8  and Josiah is 6 and Makenna who is 4 and our youngest Johanna, is 1. We are a military family, stationed in Mountain Home, but have made Boise our home!

My other greatest joy..........

I am passionate about Birth. I am passionate about women's rights in the hospitals. Hospital births are a strength of mine, as I have much experience there, and am very familiar with their procedures and protocols. After several years in Boise, I know many of the nurses and care providers here. I know you can have a great birth at a hospital! I believe that every women can have a safe and fulfilling birth experience when given the right information and the right amount of support. I trust birth, and studies show that if left alone 90% of women will have a normal and healthy labor and delivery. It greatly saddens me to see one in three women having c-sections. One of the biggest reasons given for a c-section is "failure to progress." Labor should not have a clock (if mom and baby are doing well). I believe "failure to progress" is really "failure to wait." I Love VBACs , they are one of my favorite births to attend!! There is just something really special about a women claiming the birth that was once stolen from her.  If you are looking to VBAC, I would love to help you fulfill that dream! I believe that giving birth to your baby is one of the most empowering moments of your life, something that will stay with you forever! I want to help you make it a positive and beautiful experience for your family.

How I became a doula and my current qualifications........

Inspired by my own disappointments with my first birth in 2006, I passionately set out to learn all I could about pregnancy and childbirth. I was determined to have my second baby naturally and on my terms! I would go on to have a very healing birth, and a spark would be lit in my heart to help other women have the same amazing experience.  I completed my Doula training with Birth Arts International in 2010, right after getting pregnant with our 3rd. In addition to my BAI training I completed a three day 'Birthing From Within' workshop in August 2012 and a specialized Doula Breastfeeding training course in 2013. I also co-lead the MHAFB breastfeeding group. I LOVE breastfeeding and I love to help other women be successful if that is their desire! I am actively seeking to further my education and knowledge base when ever the opportunity arises. I am hoping to start my training to be a childbirth educator in the near future, as well as get my certification to do placenta encapsulation.

I am doing every thing I can to change birth in this country.....one beautiful family at a time.
